Barristers Chambers

LPA began working with sets of Chambers in 2002, and as far as we are aware, has since become the first and only full-service recruitment consultancy to the Bar. As well as covering individual Barrister moves, teams of Barristers and mid-ranking to senior Clerks, our services to the Bar have expanded in proportion to the Bar's modernisation. The introduction of new management structures within chambers has led to the creation of many high profile opportunities for Chief Executives, Chambers Directors, Chambers Managers and Marketing/Business Development staff, many of whom bring experience from different business sectors to the Bar.

As our reputation for recruitment services to the Bar has grown, so has our scale of work, particularly in the area of Barrister teams. Our expertise in dealing with the larger and more complex team moves, coupled with our experience of, and sensitivity to the unique culture of the Bar, has attracted such assignments. Chambers have been delighted with our level of involvement in assisting them with the formulation and implementation of their strategies as a whole.

Our approach to the Bar is similar to the other sectors LPA covers, in that our level of service to both clients and candidates is mutually beneficial. We go to great lengths to consult heavily with Chambers in order to establish the right candidate profile, then use a combination of contingency, advertised selection and retained and non-retained search to place the right person. In turn, we play a key advisory role to candidates seeking a move into such a challenging and unique sector. We brief candidates comprehensively, and assist in interview preparation. LPA also provides advice to Chambers on recruitment strategy, business planning and interviewing techniques. Naturally, we conduct our business in a most discrete manner, and always give honest advice.
